Elmore library to hold holiday fundraiser
Friends of the Elmore Public Library will hold their “Christmas Trees on Parade” fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Bogey Bar and Grill just north of Elmore. They will offer a prime rib meal from the Branding Iron of Thompson, Iowa, for $18.95, and a two-piece broasted chicken meal from Juba’s of Blue Earth for $9. The meal includes baked potato, salad bar and homemade holiday dessert. Children, ages 6 and under, can enjoy boneless chicken wings for $4. Take-outs are available by calling (507) 943-3149. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available to visit with the kids. They will have baked goods for sale, Christmas trees and ornaments for sale, decorated mugs with an ornament filled with goodies for $6, and door prize drawings every half hour. Proceeds from the event will help to purchase new large print books for the Elmore Public Library. Everyone is invited to attend.
Trimont Methodist church slates event
Trimont United Methodist Church will hold its 53rd annual soup dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church located at 111 Apple St. E., Trimont. The menu will consist of homemade vegetable soup, barbecues or hot turkey sandwiches, assorted pies and beverages. Youth group activities will include a bake sale. All are welcome.
Cantata planned Sunday in Fairmont
A combined choir from First Congregational UCC, St. John’s UCC and friends, accompanied by brass, flute and drums will present a cantata “Christmas Carol Celebration” 10:30 a.m. Sunday at The First Congregational United Church of Christ, 319 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. All are welcome to attend.
Relay for Life to hold Monday meeting
2019 Relay for Life of Martin County will hold a committee meeting 5:30 p.m. Monday in the main meeting room at Mayo Clinic Health System hospital in Fairmont. All applicable persons are encouraged to attend.
