Cummins steers Warrior golfers to triumph

ARMSTRONG — Jordyn Cummins shot a medalist score of 50 to lead the North Union Warriors past the Lake Mills Bulldogs, 214-263, in a Top of Iowa Conference girls golf dual meet Thursday at Country Greens Golf Course in Armstrong.

Kayla Sabin was close behind Cummins with a nine-hole score of 54, while Halle Rezac and Carys Fuller each fired 55 as the final two contributing scores.

Hailey Arndorfer shot a 62, while Rachel Arndorfer hit a 67 for NU.

MaKenna Hanson was Lake Mills’ leading scorer with a 52.

The North Union girls tee off at 4:15 p.m. Monday at Rice Lake Golf and Country Club in Lake Mills, Iowa, for triangular action against Lake Mills and Eagle Grove.

Lake Mills 171, North Union 201 (boys) — The Warriors’ Hayden Nicoson claimed medalist honors with a 40, but the Bulldogs pocketed a 30-shot victory in the team competition Thursday.

Lake Mills’ Casey Hanson and Jimmy Gallardo each shot 41 to lead the Bulldogs, while Bennet Berger added a 42 and Payton Severson shot a 47.

Parker Eichenberger hit a 48 for the Warriors, while Nick Schiltz shot a 52. Jacob Burt’s 61 was the final contributing score for the Warriors.

Trevor Olson and Michael Hanson each shot a 66 for NU.

The North Union boys hit the fairways at 4:15 p.m. Monday during triangular action against Eagle Grove and Lake Mills at Rice Lake Golf and Country Club in Lake Mills, Iowa.

Madelia 189, Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton 210, Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial 215 (boys) — Jared Henry led the Blackhawks to victory with a medalist score of 43 during Valley Conference triangular action Thursday at Prairie Ridge Golf Course in Janesville.

Colin Wihlm added a 47 for the Blackhawks, while Cade Lunz hit a 48 and Carson Wihlm notched a 51 for the final contributing score.

Colby Wihlm added a 52 and Collin Tierney hit a 58 for Madelia.

Logan Thell led JWP with a 44, while Riley Stordahl, Jack Richards and Garrison Beckius each fired 53s to lead LCWM.

The Madelia boys hit the greens at 4:15 p.m. Monday against Minnesota Valley Lutheran at St. James Country Club.

Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton 241, Madelia 273, Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial incomplete (girls) — Dani Gerdts notched a medalist score of 52 to lead the Bulldogs past the Blackhawks during a Valley Conference triangular Thursday at Prairie Ridge Golf Course in Janesville.

Kirsten Thell added a second-place score of 56, while Taylor Rinehart had a 66 and Kiya Erler notched a 67 for the Bulldogs.

Jude Frelich led the Blackhawks with a 62 and Alayna Champlin shot a 66. Faith Bergeman’s 67 and Taylor Tierney’s 78 were the final two contributing scores for Madelia.

Savannah Wyman shot an 80, while Hannah Grebenc notched an 85 for the Blackhawks.

LCWM only had three golfers, giving them an incomplete team total.
