WASECA — The Class AA, No. 3 ranked Fairmont/Martin County West Red Bulls earned eight falls in a dominant 62-9 Big South Conference dual-meet wrestling win over the Waseca Bluejays on Tuesday night in Waseca.

Three of the individually-ranked Red Bulls grapplers needed less than two minutes on the mat to pin their opponents.

No. 5-ranked 113-pound grappler Lucas Jagodzinske ended his match with a pin in 1:49 against Waseca’s Oliver O’Brien, while No. 5-ranked 126-pounder Connor Simmonds needed only 18 seconds to pin Victor Feeley. Fairmont/MCW’s No. 3-ranked 145-pounder Payton Anderson needed 1:10 to end his match by pinning Payton Garza.

No. 2-ranked 120-pounder Jaxson Rohman pinned Luke Osweiler in 3:23, while No. 6-ranked 138-pound Red Bulls teammate Jordan Wolter stuck William Norton in 5:05.

No. 4-ranked 152-pound grappler Miles Fitzgerald earned a 10-1 major decision over Tyler Klinger, while Red Bulls’ No. 4-ranked 160-pounder Nathan Simmonds pinned Blake Wendland in 2:57.

FHS/MCW’s 170-pound grappler Mario Maldonado beat Daniel Denver by a 12-3 major decision, while Garrett Myren pinned his 182-pound opponent Buck Kuhns in 4:17.

Tristan Lange, who’s ranked No. 5 at 182 pounds, moved to 195 and pinned opponent Marcus Hansen in 3:27.

No. 7-ranked 132-pounder Cale Steuber won a 5-3 decision over Christian Rodriguez, while Everardo Hernandez won a 12-6 decision over 285-pound opponent Chase Karsten to close out the Red Bulls’ point production.

Waseca’s Mason Gehloff won 8-1 in the 106-pound division over the Red Bulls’ Jesse Potts and Waseca’s Jacob Hertzog beat the Red Bulls’ Jacob Rahn in the 220-pound class with a pin in 5:18.
