ST JAMES — The St. James Area Saints swept the Fairmont Cardinals girls tennis team, 7-0, during Big South Conference dual-meet action on Monday.

At the first singles position, Renata Hernandez needed the minimum amount of games to take a team point from Claire Nemmers, 6-0, 6-0.

Zoie Becker duplicated Hernandez’s feat at second singles, beating the Cardinals’ Sydney Hainy, 6-0, 6-0.

In third singles action, the Saints’ Ellie Becker beat Maggy Totzke, 6-2, 6-1, while Luci Kulseth beat Lauren Davis to take the point at fourth singles, 6-1, 6-1.

Hannah Loewen and Jaelyn Haler picked up the point at first doubles, beating Fairmont’s Brittany Bass and Lauren Green, 6-3, 6-2.

Miranda Tetzloff and Noel Westcott combined to beat Bergen Senf and Briana Joseph 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 at second doubles, while Mya Hanson and Gabriela Trapero rounded out the sweep by defeating Natalie Abel and Libby Totzke at the No. 3 spot, 6-1, 6-4.

Fairmont (4-5) plays its next meet today at Redwood Valley with play starting at 4:30 p.m.
