U17 girls soccer posts two victories

FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Commodity Services U17 girls soccer lineup posted a pair of victories during summer league action last week.

Isabelle Lenort and Maddie Maakestad netted goals to power Fairmont to a 2-1 triumph over Willmar on June 28.

Lenort converted a free kick into a net-finding shot, while Maakestad transformed Lexi Kaufman’s assist into a goal.

Goalie Cadee Becker made nine saves to earn the win for Commodity Services.

Lenort collected a hat trick and a playmaker with three goals and three helpers, while Emma Schultze generated three goals and one assist to guide Fairmont to an 8-1 victory over Marshall on June 26.

Hallie Handevidt netted a penalty-kick goal and one assist, Kaufman scored a goal, while McKayla Chambers and Lily Hohensee chipped in assists.

Kaufman also made five saves between the pipes, while Lenort and Savanah Baker added two and one save, respectively.

U18 Boys Division

New Ulm 1, Hawk Alarm of Fairmont 0 — New Ulm shut out Fairmont in a low-scoring game on Sunday.

Hawk Alarm goalie Abrahm Sanchez tallied nine saves.

Hawk Alarm of Fairmont 2, Hutchinson 2 (tie) — Brycen Lutterman and Sanchez each scored goals as Fairmont tied Hutchinson on June 30.

Netkeeper Alex Wannarka netted three saves for Hawk Alarm.

U14 Girls Division

St. Peter 4, Associate Optometry of Fairmont 1 — St. Peter posted a three-goal victory over Fairmont on Monday.

Selma Bleess cashed Alysen Lindquist’s assist into Associate Optometry’s lone goal of the game.

Goalkeeper Hannah Bergt generated seven saves.

Associate Optometry of Fairmont 1, Marshall 1 (tie) — Bleess converted Anna Busch’s pass into Fairmont’s only goal during a 1-all tie with Marshall on June 26.

Abby Cihoski stopped 6 of 7 Marshall shots during first-half action for Associate Optometry, while Hannah Bergt denied all four second-half shots.

Hutchinson 3, Associate Optometry of Fairmont 2 — Hutchinson edged Fairmont, 3-2, on June 18.

Bleess converted Emma Scheppmann’s assist into a goal before reversing roles as Bleess distributed the assist on Scheppmann’s net-finding shot.

Cihoski turned away 4 of 5 shots faced, while Bergt stopped 3 of 5.

U12 Boys Division

Waseca 3, Madsen Land Surveying of Fairmont 2 — Waseca tripped Fairmont by a goal during action on June 26.

Jack Sadusky tallied both of Madsen Land Surveying’s goals off assists from Jorvik Jensen and John Fernandez.

Angel Sanchez and Ethan Madsen made seven and five saves, respectively, for Fairmont.

U12 Girls Division

Becker Storage of Fairmont 7, Waseca 1 — Brylee Miller produced two goals, while Elayna Anderson delivered one goal and two assists to power Becker Storage to a 7-1 triumph over Waseca on June 27.

Kennedy Becker tallied one goal and an assist for Fairmont, while Alexandra Martin, Kaitlyn Hinz and Cali Cross each scored one goal.

Sidney Blomster and Grace Simpson doled out assists for Becker Storage, while goalkeeper Madilyn Stromberg made one save in the win.

Becker Storage of Fairmont 1, Marshall 1 (tie) — Miller cashed in Becker’s assist to help Fairmont salvage a tie with Marshall on June 25.

Stromberg generated seven saves for Becker Storage.

U11 Girls Division

Owatonna 6, Rosen’s Diversified Inc. of Fairmont 0 — Owatonna coasted to a shutout over Fairmont on June 26.

Elsa Thompson and Grace Terry chalked up 10 and four saves, respectively, for Rosen’s.

St. Peter 4, Rosen’s Diversified Inc. of Fairmont 0 — St. Peter zipped Fairmont, 4-0, on June 25.

Terry and Thompson turned away seven and six shots, respectively.
