8th-grade nets win over MCW

FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Cardinals coasted to a 48-12 victory over the Martin County West Mavericks during eighth-grade girls basketball action Thursday.

Emma Gudahl produced 11 points and five steals to top the Cardinals, while Cadee Becker contributed seven points to the win.

Brittney Mosloski delivered six points and four boards for Fairmont, while Cassidy Schultz chipped in six points.

Fairmont plays host to a split doubleheader today, facing St. James at 4:30 p.m., with a game against St. Paul’s Lutheran to follow.

Squirt ‘A’ falls to Hutchinson

FAIRMONT — Hutchinson defeated the Beemer Companies Squirt ‘A’ hockey team of Fairmont, 8-1, during action Friday night at Burich Arena in Hutchinson.

Kegan Roloff scored an unassisted goal for the Fairmont-based team, while goaltender Tanner Pankow made 19 saves.

Bantams lose tilt to St. Peter

FAIRMONT — St. Peter posted a 6-2 win over the Carlson Dental Bantam hockey team of Fairmont on Sunday at the Lund Arena on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College.

Jacob Moeller scored a power-play goal off an assist from Noah Nelson for Fairmont. Moeller also assisted on Jacob Becker’s score.

Cole Ziemer made 36 saves for Fairmont, which will compete in tournaments in Marshall and Elk River to close out the month.
