B.E. Area golfers sweep Mavericks

SHERBURN — The Blue Earth Area Bucs golf teams exited Fox Lake Golf Course with two wins in a double dual meet with the Martin County West Mavericks on Tuesday.

Braden Gudahl shot a co-medalist score of 37 for the Bucs boys, while the Mateja Lane recorded a 45 for medalist honors for BEA girls.

Malarie Scholtes recorded two pars for a nine-hole score of 50 in the win. Claire Jordan and Serina Wirth both scored a 54 as the Bucs’ girls topped the Mavericks, 202-230.

Olivia Myers and Olivia Stewart finished the day with scores of 53 and 54, respectively, for the Bucs.

Skylar Tumbleson recorded a 50 for the Mavericks. Leah Amborn penciled a 51, and Kate Lyon totaled a nine-hole score of 62. Emily Matejka provided the Mavericks with a final counting score of 67. Heather Trumpold shot a 78.

Gudahl and MCW’s Dawson Weber tied for the medalist spot with 37s, but the Bucs earned the 161-178 win.

Hunter Spencer helped the Bucs’ cause with a 40, and Manning Lane was a shot behind at 41. Gaven Bruellman birdied the fifth hole to end the meet with a 43.

Nate Murphy shot a 47, and Tate Thielfoldt penciled a 48 for the visiting Bucs.

Mavericks golfer Tristan Rabbe etched a scorecard of 42, and Cam Ellanson shot a 49. Carson Kahler’s 50 rounded out the host Mavericks’ counting total. Elliot Dahlman shot a 55.

Blue Earth Area hosts Jackson County Central on Friday at Riverside Town and Country Golf Course. Martin County West plays at Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton on Thursday.
