June 15, 2014
Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Firefighters are batting a fire at a St. Cloud school and investigating whether lighting was the cause.

The St. Cloud Times reports the fire was reported around 11:40 p.m. Saturday at the Roosevelt Early Childhood Center. No injuries have been reported, but firefighters are having trouble reaching the fire, which is burning between a rubber roof and the ceiling.

Xcel Energy reports that 17,000 customers remained without power as of 6 a.m. Another 76,000 had lost power buthad it restored.

KELO-TV reports the water is going down in southwestern Minnesota, where officials closed all four lanes of Interstate 90 from Luverne to the South Dakota border. Heavy rain washed away the spillway at Blue Mounds State Park, north of Luverne. The dam holds back water for a swimming pond.
