She was baptized on Feb. 4, 1979, and confirmed on March 27, 1993, both at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alpha. She attended and graduated from Jackson High School in 1998. Following graduation she moved to Fairmont and began working at MRCI in 1999. Amanda was a member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in St. James, where she attended adult Bible study and helped in the Sunday school classes. Amanda had the heart and innocence of a child; she loved her family most of all. Amanda loved anything Disney and always wanted to travel to Disney World. She knew the words to every song and like to sing along. Amanda loved babies and little children; she also had a special kindness to cats and dogs. Going to the movies, dancing, singing, watching Netflix, and being on her I-Pad and cell phone, were some of her favorite things to do. She sent daily "hi" messages to her family and friends on Facebook. Her favorite movies were anything Disney (especially the Little Mermaid), the Twilight Series, Harry Potter Series, High School Musical, and Dirty Dancing. She really liked to attend the Iowa State Fair and riding "Ye Old Mill" with her family. Amanda will be remembered for her beautiful smile, cute laugh, and love for purple.

Amanda is survived by her mom, Thelma, of Fairmont; her siblings, Margo (Todd) Smith of Sherburn, Dean Soucek of Fairmont, Mary Soucek of St. James, Amy (Adam) Altman of Lakefield, Tina (Jeremy) Olson of St. Joseph, Mo., and Henry (Fiance Kelly Baker) Soucek of Jackson; 14 nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by numerous friends.

Blessed be the memory of Amanda Ann Soucek.
