To the Editor:
Memorial Day is a time to reflect and think about our family and friends who are no longer with us.
We made a visit to Lakeside Cemetery and Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fairmont on Saturday. What a disappointment to us to see that Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery did not have a lot of tender care in preparation for the holiday.
The grass where our loved ones are buried was poorly mowed and overgrowth on the grave markers was very evident.
The Bible area is a landmark but the bushes were so overgrown the Bible could hardly be seen. Around that area were weeds and a patch of thistles.
We hope the caretakers will understand our concerns and make an effort to make Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery as beautiful as it once was.
