FAIRMONT - Funeral services for Lorene F. Schultze, 87, of Fairmont, Minn., formerly of Ceylon, Minn., will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Wilbert.

Lorene passed away Tuesday evening, April 8, 2014, at Lutz Wing of the Mayo Clinic Health System, Fairmont. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Monday, April 14, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont.

Lorene Frieda Marie Schultze was born June 12, 1926, in Westford Township, Martin County, Minn., the daughter of Martin and Emma (Tietje) Schultze. She attended school at St. Paul's Lutheran Parochial School in Wilbert. Lorene worked as a hired house hand for relatives and neighbors as a young lady. She lived with and cared for the Walter Schulz family in Fairmont while Mrs. Schulz was ill, and cared for the children even after she passed away. When Lorene's mother passed away she moved back to the farm to care for her father until he passed away in 1988. Lorene continued to live on the farm until her eyesight diminished and she needed to be in a care facility. She lived in the Lutheran Manor in Truman, then Ingleside in Fairmont, then Lakeview Methodist Healthcare Center in Fairmont from 2006 until Feb. of 2014. In February of this year, she entered the Lutz Wing. Lorene was a long-time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilbert.

She is survived by four siblings, Ruth Bremer of Fairmont, Lawrence Schultze and his wife, Lola, of Ceylon, Regina Boese and her husband, Arthur, of Greenbush, Minn., and Clarence Schultze and his wife, Marie, of Abilene, Kan.; 21 nieces and nephews and their spouses; many great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Lorene was preceded in death by her sister, Irma Bremer; brothers-in-law, Edward and Lyle Bremer; nephew, David Bremer; niece, Alice Bremer; great-niece and great-nephew, Jocelyn and Logan Garrels.
