BLUE EARTH - A Celebration of Life for Gaye Leone (Wirth) Nesbit, 61, of Blue Earth will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Hope United Methodist Church in Blue Earth, with Pastor Jan Crissinger-Clark, officiating. Consistent with Gaye's giving nature, she donated her body to the University of Minnesota for research.
Gaye lost her battle with ocular melanoma on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Dec. 30, 1951, in Akron, Iowa, to Al and Fran Wirth of Blue Earth. She married the love of her life, Ron Nesbit, on Aug. 7, 1970, in Blue Earth. Gaye owned and managed Wirth Brothers Water Distributing in Blue Earth. She was a loving and giving person. Her warmth and love touched all those that entered her life. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend, who will be deeply missed by all.
She is survived by her parents, Al and Fran; husband Ron; her sons, Dan (wife Jamie) of Byron, Minn., and Michael of Blue Earth; daughter, Alicia Murphy (husband Brent) of Blue Earth; her brothers, Matt Wirth (wife Sharon) of Coralville, Iowa, and Brett Wirth (wife Lisa) of Frost, Minn.; her granddaughters, Brittney and Avrie Nesbit; grandsons Zac and Nate Murphy; brother-in-law, Ross Nesbit (wife Kathy) of Le Sueur, Minn.; and mother-in-law, Millie Nesbit of Blue Earth.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Richard Nesbit; and her grandmothers and grandfathers. Memorials can be given in care of Ron Nesbit to help offset medical costs incurred during this time.
