To the Editor:
As I write this, my kitchen is filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread and I am reminded of the abundance of blessings the Lord has given to our family. Food is a vital part of life; being truly hungry and without any food is not something I've really experienced, but there are many in our world who have.
The sixth annual Martin County Kids Against Hunger Food Pack will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Fairmont Armory.
Many volunteers are involved in this amazing fundraiser, which helps not only local but worldwide efforts to alleviate hunger.
In the past five years, Martin County Kids Against Hunger has fed more than half a million people by packing 546,700 meals and raising more than $122,225 to cover the cost of the ingredients and shipping. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of many children and families.
Plan to be involved in helping feed God's hungry children by organizing a team from your family, business or club to pack on Feb. 15, or by attending the annual KAH fundraiser concert organized by our community's youth on Jan. 15. If you would like to donate toward this cause, please send contributions payable to: Kids Against Hunger to Beth Reeve at 918 Summit Dr., Fairmont, MN 56031 or contact her at (507) 235-5107 with any questions.
Celebrate your abundance by sharing your gifts, talents and love with others who are less fortunate. May joy, peace, happiness, love and hope fill your holiday season.
