To the Editor:
I have spent 50-plus years in Fairmont with my husband and children. This is where my five children spent their younger years going to school, participating in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, school activities, and just being kids. Fortunate or unfortunate, none of my children has chosen Fairmont as the place to live and raise their families.
Due to this and at my age, I will be moving to be closer to at least some of my children. I'm leaving so many good friends, my church and all the activities I've enjoyed for many years. I was on the park board for more than 20 years. I'll miss my Friday volunteer job working the holiday department for the Salvation Army. I have many dear friends whom I quilted with and my special hooking friends (rug hooking), plus my church friends and coffee friends whom I'll miss very much.
My special neighbors who were always there when I needed them: Tom, who did mowing and blowing snow; Clark, who cut down fallen trees and hauled my yard debris to the dump; Tracy, who put soup and other goodies on my back porch, almost every week, all year long; and Dar, Pat and Jan, the ones who helped me with my quilting.
The Hookers who helped me with my downsizing sale, you're all wonderful.
Thanks to everyone I've met through the years.
