FAIRMONT - It's a "Free 4 All" at Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church on Saturday.

Free 4 All is aimed at helping those in the community who have a need and could use a little help, according to organizer Debra Engman.

"All the items here have already been purchased, just as Jesus already paid for our salvation," Engman said. "We give them away to anyone who comes simply for coming here."

PREP WORK — Georgie Pfaffinger, left, and Debra Engman fold and sort clothes Thursday afternoon at Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church in preparation for the church’s second “Free 4 All” on Saturday.

This is the second time the church has held a Free 4 All. The first one last year saw about 130 people come through.

"We had people at the door at 7:30 a.m. waiting to come in," recalled Georgie Pfaffinger, chairwoman of the evangelism commission at the church. "So it was good draw."

Churches and community members from all over town have donated for the event, from clothes that are still in good condition, to small used household items.

"We're good on donations," said Pfaffinger, motioning around the room to the dozens of tables filled with all types of clothing, toys and other goods.

The event is open to everyone.

"We've had other churches tell their people about this if they have a need," Engman said.

"We also have a table set up for prayer," Pfaffinger said.

"Each of us is spiritually needy and only Jesus can meet this need and give us peace," Engman said.

The Free 4 All Saturday begins at 8 a.m. and goes until 1 p.m. at Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church, 901 Woodland Ave., in Fairmont.
