MANKATO - The Mankato National baseball team rebounded from a 2-0 loss to Fairmont American Legion Post 36 on Tuesday to down Fairmont 12-9 in Mankato on Friday.
Christian Petschke had a pair of doubles, driving in three RBIs to lead Fairmont's 14 hit effort in the game.
Ryan Noll added a pair of hits and drove in three RBIs and scored two runs for Fairmont, while Jay Ruen smacked a pair of hits, scoring twice in the game.
Bailey Koppen pounded a double and added another hit, with Jordan Voss delivering two hits as well.
Levi Becker pitched three innings, allowing seven runs - six earned - on nine hits to take the loss.
Ryan Noll pitched two innings in relief, giving up three runs on two hits, striking out four and walking three.
Petschke finished the final inning, allowing two runs on two hits, striking out one.
Blake Matuska had a double and a triple, driving in two RBIs to lead the Nationals offense. Kyle Reynolds added a pair of hits and three RBIs, while Zach Mullen had three hits and drove in two RBIs for Mankato.
Ian Schwickert pitched 4 2/3 innings for Mankato, giving up six runs on eight hits, striking out seven and walking three to earn the win.
Josh Cook pitched the final 2 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits in relief.
Fairmont American Legion Post 36 (6-3) travels for a doubleheader against Mankato American at 6 p.m. on Monday in Mankato.
