FAIRMONT - Celebration of Life services for Oren V. Flohrs, 83, of Fairmont, Minn., formerly of Galena Township, rural Ormsby, Minn., will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Galena Township, rural Ormsby, Minn., with Rev. John Meyer officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery in Galena Township, rural Ormsby, Minn., with full military honors by the Foster-Bernhardt American Legion Post 373 of Trimont.

Oren was called to his eternal rest on Monday morning, June 10, 2013, at his home in Fairmont, Minn. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today, June 13, 2013, at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont and one hour prior to the services Friday at the church.

Oren Victor Flohrs was born Jan. 21, 1930, in Waverly Township, Martin County, Minn., to Harry and Sophia (Drayfahl) Flohrs. He was received into the kingdom of God through Holy Baptism on Feb. 9, 1930, and later reaffirmed his faith at his confirmation on April 18, 1943, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Galena Township. Oren attended rural school District 115 in Martin County and later was a 1948 graduate of Triumph-Monterey High School. Oren was raised in the Ormsby and Trimont area. On Jan. 16, 1951, he entered the U.S. Army. On May 11, 1951, he was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Ogren at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Galena Township. After their marriage, they lived at Camp Rucker in Alabama. Oren was honorable discharged on Oct. 12, 1952. They returned to the area and farmed and raised their family. Beverly died on June 18, 1999. On March 27, 2004, he was united in marriage to RaLetta (Rae) Colby-Fluegel at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Galena Township. After their marriage, they farmed in Galena Township until recently moving to Fairmont. Oren was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Galena Township and held many church positions. He was a member of the Foster-Bernhardt American Legion Post 373 of Trimont.

Survivors include his wife, RaLetta "Rae" Flohrs of Fairmont, Minn.; his three children, son, Steve (Connie) Flohrs of rural Ormsby, Minn., daughter, Sheryl (Greg) Hanefeld of Windom, Minn., and son, Kent Flohrs of rural Trimont, Minn.; step-daughters, LaRee (Terry) Rowan of Eagan, Minn., and Shelly (Ken) Vlieger of Des Moines, Iowa; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five step great-grandchildren; brother, LeRoy Flohrs of Truman, Minn.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Oren was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Beverly Flohrs; brothers, Leonard and Stanley Flohrs; sisters-in-law, Maxine, Hazel and Nell Flohrs; nephew, Dale Flohrs; and other relatives.
