TERRIL, Iowa - The Class 2A, No. 3-ranked North Union Warriors softball team swept the Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire Titans in a Cornbelt Conference doubleheader on Monday in Terril.
The Warriors erupted offensively for a 16-0 Game 1 three-inning victory, before rattling off another 25 runs in a 25-2 three-inning win in the second game.
Sarah Rolling went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs as the Warriors rattled off 14 runs in the opening frame of Game 1.
Taylor Mathine went 2-for-2 with a run scored and one RBI to add to North Union's potent offense.
Allie Ingalls went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs.
Autumn Boland added another 2-for-3 day with two runs scored.
Peyton Oleson pitched both games, giving up a pair of hits and striking out one in the 10 batters she faced.
Cheyanne Boland, Collete Haag and Ingalls each blasted home runs for the Warriors as they scored 15 runs to open up the Game 2 win.
Haag went 3-for-3 in the game with four runs scored and four RBIs, while Mathine went a perfect 3-for-3 from the dish with three tallies and knocking in three RBIs.
Ingalls, the Warriors leadoff batter, added some punch to the lineup with four hits in five at-bats, scoring twice and driving in three runs.
Oleson struck out five of the 15 batters she faced in Game 2 to take the win, giving up two earned runs on five hits and walking one.
North Union (5-0) travels to play Laurens-Marathon in a 5:30 p.m. game today in Laurens, Iowa.
