Fairmont Sentinel

FAIRMONT - Fairmont's Roger Nielsen took home a pair of wins in the Modifieds class, while Jeremy Wegner was a double winner in the Hobby Stocks to top Friday night's races at the Fairmont Raceway.

Nielsen won the second heat of the Modifieds and Jeffrey Larson claimed the first heat victory, but it was Nielsen who came away with the feature win in the Modifieds.

Wegner also won the second heat of the Hobby Stocks on the way to being a double winner. Merle Pattison took home the Heat 1 victory in the Hobby Stocks.

Wegener then outraced the leader in points, Tyler Ignaszewski, who finished third, for the feature win.

Ken Tietz, who is currently No. 3 in the points for the Stock Car class, defeated Luke Sathoff, currently tied with Dustin Larson for No. 1, for a feature victory on Friday.

Tietz finished third in the second heat, behind Larson and Derek Green, but rebounded for the feature victory.

Dan Mackenthun snagged the first heat victory, before finishing fourth in the Stock Cars feature race.

Fairmont's Kyle Steuber improved upon a second-place finish in the opening heat of the Sports Mods to claim a first-place finish in the feature.

Steuber raced past No. 1 (Jason Fisher) and No. 3 (Dustin Philipp) racers in the points to claim his victory.

Philipp won the Heat 2 race, while Fisher finished third to Justin Remus in Heat 3 of the Sports Modifieds.

Ben Ruby beat Steuber in the first heat of Sports Mods for the win.

Nate Coopman maintained his top position on the points leaderboard in the Compacts, winning the feature after a fifth-place finish in the opening heat.

Stephanie Forsberg took home the heat victory, but finished third behind Coopman and Megan Lappegard in the feature race.
