To the Editor:
Why are we letting our lake water in Fairmont run over the George Lake dam? We need to keep all the water we can in our lakes, or do we have a scientific reason for letting the water run out?
This has been an issue in Fairmont for years, and I cannot understand why we should have to back our boats clear into the lake just to get them off the trailers. If we would put the planks back into the dam, we would not have this issue for the boats. I am sure we could weld or lock the planks in place so that they cannot be removed, and then take down the sign at the entrance of the dam.
