FAIRMONT - Funeral Service for Robert S. Schock, 90, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Fairmont with interment in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont.

Robert passed away on Saturday evening, April 6, 2013, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today, April 9, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Robert St. Clair Schock was born May 9, 1922, in Huntley, Minn., the son of Ted and Cora (Garrison) Schock. On Feb. 21, 1952, Bob was united in marriage to May Schott. The couple resided in Oregon where Bob worked in construction. In 1962, they moved to Minnesota, where Bob owned and operated a mechanic shop in Guckeen, Minn. Bob later worked at Walnut Grove Feed and became the top feed salesman, winning many trips and traveling all over the United States. Most recently, he worked for Golden Sun until retiring to Granada, Minn., in 1985. Bob and May shared 61 years together. Bob was a lifetime member of the Eagles Club in Fairmont where he was a past-president. During his free time, he enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, camping, playing cards, gardening and going to casinos. Bob will be missed very much by his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, May Schock of Fairmont, Minn.; daughter, Linda Strauser and her husband, Dale, of Granada, Minn.; sons, Jerry Ash of Tofte, Minn., Darryl Schock and his wife, Coleen, of Granada, Minn., and Randy Schock of Fairmont, Minn.; daughter-in-law, Sandy Ash of Swea City, Iowa; brothers, Lyle Schock of Estherville, Iowa, and Delos Schock and his wife, Marge, of Blue Earth, Minn.; brother-in-law, Lawrence Whitman of East Chain, Minn.; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Ted and Cora Schock, Bob is preceded in death by his son, Ralph Ash Jr.; daughter-in-law, Elaine Ash; sister, Maxine Whitman; and sister-in-law, Mary Schock.
