WORTHINGTON - Morgan Traylor produced a game-leading double-double performance of 22 points and 14 rebounds to power the Worthington Trojans to a 69-61 nonconference basketball victory over the Class AA, No. 4-ranked Fairmont Cardinals on Tuesday night in Worthington.
The Trojans held a 37-35 halftime edge before outscoring the Cardinals by a 32-26 margin during the final 18 minutes.
Marcus Potter collected 13 points and distributed seven assists for Worthington, Jon Vorwald supplied 13 points, while Will Dudley chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds.
Bryce Holm generated 14 points and three rebounds to help pace Fairmont, while Josh Eversman delivered nine points and five rebounds.
Ryan Noll scored eight points for the Cardinals, Jay Ruen doled out four assists to complement seven points, while Nick Roggow netted seven points.
The Cardinals connected on 22 of 40 shots from 2-point range, only 3 of 17 behind the 3-point arc and 8 of 15 at the free throw line.
Fairmont (1-1) travels to Marshall on Saturday for a 1 p.m. nonconference game. Worthington (1-0) travels to Windom Area on Friday night.

Truman/Martin Luther 75, New Ulm Cathedral 68 (OT) - Sam Geistfeld erupted for a season-high 29 points to power the first-year combination to a 75-68 non-league overtime triumph over the Greyhounds on Tuesday night in Truman.
Geistfeld also grabbed eight rebounds and pocketed five steals, while teammate DaMarko Thomas earned a double-double by scoring 16 points and pulling down 13 rebounds to go with five steals.
Cade Ekstrom scored 11 points and made five steals for Truman/Martin Luther, while Chandler Greier chipped in seven points.
