FAIRMONT?- Funeral service for Anna A. Rahn, 100, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont, with interment in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Anna passed away on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 21, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont.

Memorials are preferred to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont.

Anna Alma Rahn was born March 11, 1912, in Rolling Green Township, Martin County, Minn. She was the daughter of Gustav and Anna (Gellert) Rahn. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran School and was a graduate of Fairmont High School in 1930. Anna then attended Fairmont Normal Training in 1931. She furthered her education at Mankato State University, where she received her B.S. Degree in elementary education.

Anna taught in rural schools in Martin County and at Trimont, Welcome, St. James and Fairmont. In 1950, she began teaching at William Budd School after its completion and continued there until her retirement in 1976.

Anna was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. She was also active with Senior Friends, was a life member of the Martin County Historical Society, M.E.A., and local, state and national Retired Educators Associations.

Left to cherish her memory include her nieces, Barbara Speckman and her husband, Aldean, of Fairmont, Minn., and Grace Mulso of Welcome, Minn.; great nephews, John Speckman and his wife, Julie of Welcome, Minn., Jay Mulso and his wife, Beth, of Welcome, Minn., and David Mulso and his wife, Lynn, of Alden, Minn.; great-great nephews, Timothy Mulso of Jackson, and Jordan Mulso of Alden, Minn.; other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, Gustav and Anna Rahn, Anna was preceded in death by her sisters, Emeline Rahn and Irene Finke and her husband, Elmer; nephew, Dale Mulso; and great-great nephew, Andrew Speckman.
