Zella passed away Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 7, 2012, at Roxanne House in Fairmont, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home of Fairmont is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Zella Marie (O'Neill) Lloyd was born Oct. 28, 1914, in Mission Hills, S.D., the daughter of Leo V. and Paula K. (Johnson) O'Neill. As a young girl, Zella attended school in Reliance, S.D., and graduated from Reliance High School with the class of 1933.

On Oct. 29, 1935, Zella was united in marriage to Raymond G. Lloyd in Reliance, S.D. Together the couple made their home in Reliance, S.D., prior to moving to Fairmont, Minn., and were blessed with two daughters, Marilyn "Mollie" and Deanna.

Zella was a hardworking woman. She worked as a clerk at Gardner Pharmacy and at the Hallmark Store formerly the Gift Tree in Fairmont. Zella also worked for many years as a hostess at the Sirloin House. She retired in 1981. Zella was a member of the St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont and was also a member of Rose Lake Golf Course for many years. She was an avid golfer and looked forward to warm days golfing with friends and family. Her quiet time was spent working on crossword puzzles and Zella, fondly known as "Nonnie" by her grandchildren, treasured the opportunity to see her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandson. Zella will be greatly missed by those that loved her and called her friend.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Marilyn "Mollie" Wolter of Fairmont, Minn., and Deanna Cassem and her husband, Marty of Blue Earth, Minn.; her adoring grandchildren, Kevin Wolter, Scott (Marti) Wolter, Christian (Tracy) Wolter, Kimberly (Tim) Ristau, Kerrie Jo Cassem, Marty Jr. (Mary) Cassem, and Kristine Siemens; her 10 loving great-grandchildren; and an adorable great-great-grandson; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Zella was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Paula O'Neill; husband, Ray Lloyd; a son-in-law, Dean Wolter; grandson, Timothy J. Wolter; three brothers and two sisters.

The family requests memorial be made in Zella's name to the St. John Vianney Endowment Fund and the Roxanne House in Fairmont, Minn.
