ARMSTRONG, Iowa - Services for Craig "Punk" Nelsen, 65, of Armstrong will be 2 p.m. Monday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel, Armstrong, with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Ringsted.
Visitation will be noon until time of services at the funeral chapel.
Craig Norman Nelsen (Punk), son of Norman and Wilma (Sampson) Nelsen, was born at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville Iowa, on July 23, 1947. He passed away at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, in Armstrong, Iowa, at the age of 65 years.
Punk was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ringsted, Iowa. He received his education at Halfa School through eighth grade and graduated from Ringsted High School in 1965. He entered the U.S. Peace Corps in 1971 and served for two years in Ecuador in South America.
He was employed at Art's-Way and then, for the last 27 years, at Weigh-Tronix in Fairmont, Minn., as team leader. He enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time in his garage working on his cars.
Punk was preceded in death by his father, Norman, in November 2008.
He is survived by his mother, Wilma, of Estherville; two brothers, Gary Nelsen and his wife, Nancy, of Spencer, Iowa, and Jon Nelsen of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Julie Kelch and her husband Mike of Ankeny, Iowa, and Lori Orth and her husband Curt of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five nieces, five nephews and nine great nieces and nephews.
Punk was a loving son and brother and a loyal friend to many.
