Emily passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Parker Oaks Nursing Home in Winnebago, Minn.

Emily Annabell Cox was born Feb. 5, 1929, in Lakefield, Minn., the daughter of Albert and Matilda (Bisping) Miller. As a young girl, Emily moved with her family to the Dawson, Minn., area where she attended school.

On June 10, 1955, Emily was united in marriage to Clarence Cox in Quimby, Iowa. Together, the couple made their home on a farm near Frost, Minn., where they were blessed with three children:?Debra, Randy and Gordon.

In 1977, Emily moved to Blue Earth, Minn., where she worked at Gerrings Mobile Homes until it closed in 1982. She then began working as a cook at Blue Earth Hospital, retiring in 1998.

In her younger years, Emily loved to draw. She enjoyed playing records and listening to music, especially country music. In her later years she would even dance to the music in her wheelchair. She had many fond memories as a child of life on the farm, such as playing baseball, helping to plow, being around the horses, as well as many other tasks that she helped with. Her zest for life will be greatly missed by those that loved her and called her friend.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Debra K. Martin and her husband, Ronald of Fairmont, Minn.; two sons, Randy Cox and his wife, Darlene of Albert Lea, Minn., and Gordon Cox of Fairmont, Minn.; three brothers, Bud (Bea) Miller Belgrade, Minn., Eldon (Cecelia) Miller of Andover, Minn., and Floyd (Kit) Miller of Strathmore, Calif.; two sisters, Ardella (Glenn) Sumner of Boyd, Minn., and Phyllis Key of Midland, Texas; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Emily is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Matilda Miller; two sisters, Mildred Admire and Betty Koenen; a brother, George Miller; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Key and Frank Admire; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Miller.
