WASECA - The Class A, No. 3-ranked and South Central Conference dual-meet team champion Waseca Bluejays continued their reign over the prep tennis courts on Saturday in Waseca.

The host Bluejays captured all three doubles championships, in addition to winning two singles crowns, during the individual portion of the SCC Meet.

St. James senior extraordinaire Aryn Eckstrom, who holds the No. 7 spot in the Class A state individual rankings, earned the gold medal at No. 1 singles, while Blue Earth Area sophomore Kaitlyn Olsen claimed top honors at No. 4 singles during the six-team competition.

Olsen, the No. 1 seed in her individual singles bracket, merited a first-round bye before defeating Waseca freshman Anna Hoehn in semifinal action, 6-3, 6-0. Olsen then struck gold by netting back-to-back 6-3 set wins over St. James freshman Aubrey Eckstrom.

Fairmont junior Missy Viesselman netted the bronze medal at No. 4 singles by downing Hoehn, 6-3, 6-0.

Viesselman opened the tournament by posting a 6-1, 6-0 first-round victory over New Ulm sophomore Miriam Jakel before falling to Aubrey Eckstrom in the semifinals, 6-4, 6-2.

Viesselman joined Fairmont teammates Camilla Hermanrud and Allison Moeller as third-place medalists at Saturday's SCC Meet.

Hermanrud shut out New Ulm's Jennifer Martens in first-round action at No. 2 singles before falling to Waseca senior Alicia Knoll in the semifinals, 6-2, 6-4. Hermanrud bounced back to net back-to-back 6-3 set victories over Blue Earth Area junior Lindsey Prokop.

Prokop opened the day with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout over St. Peter junior Mallory Malecek before falling to St. James junior Lorena Hernandez in the semifinals, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles.

In the third singles bracket, Moeller netted a 6-1, 6-1 first-round triumph over New Ulm freshman Maya Sarkar before falling to St. James sophomore Julia Boeve in a down-to-the-wire semifinal slugfest, 7-6 (8-6), 4-6, (10-7).

Moeller, a left-handed junior, rebounded to roll to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Blue Earth Area freshman Annika Wilhelmi in the bronze-medal match.

In first singles action, top-seeded Aryn Eckstrom waited through a first-round bye before downing Fairmont junior Aubrey Green in the semifinals, 6-2, 6-3. The No. 7-ranked Eckstrom then coasted to a 6-2, 6-2 victory over St. Peter senior Calleigh Carlson in the championship match.

Green, who opened with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Blue Earth Area sophomore Karleigh Wolff, finished fourth at No. 1 singles after dropping a 6-2, 6-3 decision to Waseca senior Abby Collins during the third-place contest.

Waseca's Alicia Knoll and teammate Maddie Muotka each produced gold-medal finishes at No. 2 and 3 singles, respectively.

Alicia Knoll, the No. 2 seed at the No. 2 spot, won her SCC crown by edging No. 1-seeded St. James' Lorena Hernandez in the final, 6-4, 6-3, while Muotka downed St. James' Julia Boeve for top honors at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-0.

Abbe Hoehn and Shanly Nelson combined forces to generate one of Waseca's three doubles championships on the day.

The No. 1-seeded Hoehn and Nelson sat through a first-round bye in the No. 1 bracket, netted a 6-2, 6-0 semifinal win over Blue Earth Area's Karli Olsen and Natali Fellows, and edged St. James' Michaela Nordby and Acacia Foss in the gold-medal match, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).

Bailey Krueger and Olivia McIntosh kept the gold medals going in the host Bluejays' direction by winning the No. 2 doubles title.

The top-seeded Krueger and McIntosh claimed an opening-round bye, outslugged Blue Earth Area's Aeli Olson and Paige Darrington in a hard-fought semifinal, 5-7, 6-0, (10-8), before edging St. Peter's Rachel Huber and Val Bresnahan in the championship match, 6-3, 6-4.

Waseca's Katie Tlusty and Maddy Knoll then capped the doubles sweep by sitting out a first-round bye due to netting the No. 1 seed at the No. 3 position in the bracket.

Tlusty and Knoll downed Fairmont's Briana Gratz and Andrea Carstensen in the semifinals, 6-0, 6-0, before rolling by St. Peter's Karly Maier and Kate Sandquist in the finals, 6-1, 6-0.

Gratz and Carstensen outlasted Blue Earth Area's Bekah Krussow and Adrien Wittlieff in the first round, 6-4, 5-7, (10-5).
