ELMORE - RONALD MARCELL RISTAU, age 90, of Elmore, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at his home.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Elmore, with Rev. Dale Kohrs officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation time will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th St. in Blue Earth, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

He was born Aug. 20, 1922, at Elmore Township, the son of Edward and Emma (Peter) Ristau. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, where he was a lifelong member. After serving with the U.S. Army in the Pacific after World War II, he farmed in Elmore Township for 50 years.
He was an avid gardener and enthusiastic reader. Because he wholeheartedly pursued his passions, he was a wonderful example not only to his children but also to his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia (Smith) Ristau of Elmore; son, Kevin (Kris Jacobs) Ristau of St. Paul; daughter, Julie (Jay Walljasper) Ristau of Minneapolis; son, Todd (Diane) Ristau of Elmore; sister, Donna Hanson of Blue Earth; sister, Darlene Evans of Park Rapids, Minn.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
