Schultz hammered home a net-finding shot off senior defender Rachael Sauck's assist to stake Fairmont Area to a 1-0 advantage on the scoreboard with 2:11 remaining before intermission.
Sophomore forward Ana Castillo, however, knotted the game during the second half by tallying an unassisted goal with 15:36 remaining in regulation and eventually force an extra session.
Neither Worthington nor Fairmont Area managed to score during the overtime sessions.
Sophomore goalkeeper Alexis Christianson produced 13 saves for the Cardinals, while senior netminder Alivia Rowley limited Fairmont Area's offense to only one goal.
