To the Editor:
The Sentinel reported recently that the city of Fairmont's consolidation of job functions results in a savings of $263,000. This has been accomplished by planning ahead for the several retirements occurring this year.
Congratulations to all those involved in this accomplishment and appreciation is due those taking on additional job responsibilities. This accomplishment also provides another 263,000 reasons why we should expect the city to reject any property tax levy hike for 2013.
