Alvin Floyd ‘Al’ Viesselman

CRYSTAL - Alvin Floyd "Al" Viesselman, age 67, of Crystal, Minn., passed away on August 3, 2012. He was born on May 19, 1945, the son of Walter & Blanche (nee Cottew) Viesselman in Fairmont, Minn. He graduated from Ceylon High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He later became a member American Legion Post 529. In his younger years, Al played softball and liked to hunt and fish. He married Sue Ann Tanghe (nee Gruber) on November 17, 1984, in Ceylon. Al enjoyed cheering on the Minnesota Twins, the Vikings, and the Gophers. He was preceded in death by parents, brother Edward Viesselman & infant brother Roger, and his nephew Lance Viesselman. Al is survived by wife of almost 28 years, Sue; stepchildren: Jeanette Tanghe (Eric Shaw) and Kevin (Jill) Tanghe; 4 granddaughters: Jordan & Jaden Olsen and Gabby & Audrey Tanghe; nephew Chad Viesselman; extended family & friends. A Memorial Gathering will be held to celebrate Al's life from 2-4 p.m., with prayers at 4, on Friday, August 10 at Kapala-Glodek-Malone Funeral Home, 7800 Bass Lake Rd, New Hope MN, 763-535-4112. Interment on Saturday, August 11 at 1 p.m. at Fairview Memorial Park in Fairmont, Minn. Memorials preferred to American Cancer Society.
