10U Red stays undefeated

FAIRMONT - Fairmont's 10U Red girls softball team won took two games in a doubleheader against Blue Earth, winning 15-0 and 15-5, on Monday in Blue Earth.

For Fairmont in game one, Kaitlyn Freese and Taylor Crissinger combined to pitch three scoreless innings, striking out five and giving up one hit.

Kaitlyn Scott had a hit for Fairmont in the 15-0 victory.

For Fairmont, this was its second shutout of the season.

In game two, Fairmont scored another 15 runs en route to a 10-run victory. Freese and Crissinger each had a hit for Fairmont.

Adding to the Fairmont offense was Bergan Senf, Olivia Anderson, Joni Becker and Macey Bearson, each recorded a hit.

Crissinger and Freese handled the pitching duties, combining for four strikeouts in the win.

Fairmont Red (8-0) travels to St. James for a doubleheader at 6 p.m. on today.

Fairmont 12-2, New Ulm Blue 6-5 - Fairmont's 16B softball team split games with New Ulm Blue on Thursday, with Fairmont winning game one 12-6 and losing game two 5-2 at Hands Park.

Fairmont's Miceala Gochanour had a triple, a single and collected three RBIs to held lead the team to an easy 12-6 victory.

Amber Schulz added a triple a run scored and two RBIs for Fairmont, while Abby Fitzgerald a double, a single, two runs scored and an RBI.

Allison Moeller had a double, a single, two runs scored and an RBI in the win. Alyson Eversman added four hits and two RBIs for Fairmont in the victory. Payton Walser had two base hits and two RBIs in the game, with Mikayla Krzywicki had one hit, a run scored and an RBI.

Krzywicki also pitched five innings for Fairmont, giving up six runs on ten hits and striking out two.

In game two New Ulm got the win, beating Fairmont 5-2. Gochanour had a triple and a single with two runs scored to lead the offense again. Eversman had one hit and two RBIs, while Schulz and Krzywicki each added one hit in the loss.

Eversman pitched the five inning game, giving up five runs on six hits, while striking out eight.

Sleepy Eye 7-12, Fairmont 3-2 - Sleepy Eye's 16B softball team swept Fairmont in a doubleheader at Hands Park, winning 7-3 and 12-2 on June 19.

In game one for Fairmont, Kristen Campe had three hits and collected an RBI and a run scored to lead the team. Taylor Nuss and Eversman each had a hit and scored on of the Fairmont runs. Tieryn Arens and Walser each had a hit and collected an RBI for Fairmont.

Krzywicki pitched the complete five-inning game, allowing seven runs on six hits with three strikeouts.

Nuss led Fairmont in their game two loss to Sleepy Eye. Nuss had a triple and a single with a run scored in the game. Gochanour recorded the other Fairmont run, while Campe, Aren and Courtney Mosloski each added a hit.

Eversman pitched the five inning game for Fairmont, giving up twelve runs on eleven hits.

Fairmont 14-6, Springfield 4-9 - Fairmont's 16B softball split a doubleheader with Springfield, winning game one 14-4 and losing the second game 9-6 in Springfield on June 14.

Fairmont's Arens hit for the cycle in game one, collecting six RBIs.
