To the Editor:
Your editorial column endorsing the two-layer system implemented by Mayo is an interesting theory - separating staff and clinic patients.
Are you suggesting that family doctor relations are a thing of the past?
Should family practice give way to staff practitioners?
Will diagnosis become good health for the individual or will diagnosis be determined by best financial reward? Do we measure medicine and diagnosis in terms of minutes needed, or by good health needs?
I do believe all patients deserve the time that good and sound decisions require. The collision course of diagnosis by sound medical decisions must not give way to dollar signs.
