To the Editor:
We are in the middle of our collection period of items for our homeless vets. This will end July 8.
We have currently collected more than 1,800 pieces of travel-size personal care items, compared to last year's collection of more than 5,000 pieces, so we certainly could use some help.
We are collecting travel-size shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, white athletic socks, and used or new backpacks. Our two dropoff locations are Five Lakes Center and the JCPenney catalog area.
These items were distributed to more than 1,000 homeless veterans in Mankato, Rochester and the Twin Cities last year.
