Tuesday's article on the Stand Down for Homeless Vets collection should have stated that 763 homeless veterans were served, not backpacks collected, in St Paul last year; 300 in Mankato and 100 in Rochester.
There is also a dropoff location at the JCPenney service desk at Five Lakes Centre in Fairmont.
I would like to encourage any students who have gently-used backpacks that they will not be using next year to consider donating them."
