To the Editor:
Reflecting back on the amazing weekend that was had by all at the Red Rock Center during "Murder on the Five Lakes," a murder mystery fund-raising dinner, I want to express my sincere appreciation to all who contribued to the success.
This was an amazing opportunity not only for Red Rock Center, but the community and 11 local cast members (Bill Busse, Barbara Jordi, Matt Nielsen, JoAnne Rehling, Phil Hanson, Lael Luedtke, Barbara Schmidt, Joseph Kreiss, Linda Smith and Loren Dunham). They all did a phenominial job.
It has been many years since a Murder Mystery has been in town. However, this was not just another Murder Mystery; it was specifically written by a prestigious director, Paul Warshauer, formerly from Chicago. The comical storyline was based around the Five Lakes of Fairmont, with an idea that Fairmont needed change. The cast included a "mayor," a "Chamber of Commerce president," a "bait shop owner," a "yacht club owner" and many more.
"Murder on the Five Lakes" was designed as a fund-raiser to support the upcoming fiscal year at Red Rock Center. We received a great deal of support from area businesses and individuals, including the Drew & Paul Schellpeper family, Profinium Financial, First Farmers & Merchants Bank, Bolton & Menk, Inc., Dr. Jeff Fordice, Rainey Lake Ag Society, and those who purchased individual tickets and made donations toward our cause. We received silent auction donation items from many of the local merchants and restaurants. We certainly could not have done it without all of you.
If you were not able to attend but would like to make a contribution, please make checks payable to the Martin County Preservation Assn. c/o annual fundraiser, 222 E Blue Earth Ave., Fairmont, MN 56031.
On behalf of the staff and board of directors of Red Rock Center (operated by Martin County Preservation Association). Thank you for contributing to a successful fund-raiser.
