To the Editor:
I want to thank Mayo Clinic Health System-Fairmont staff for the excellent care I received during my two recent hospitalizations. I also want to share with readers the important lessons I have learned from these experiences.
The reason I go to Fairmont for my medical care is because of my 30-year affiliation with Dr. Chris Anderson (formerly of Blue Earth) and his practice in Fairmont.
The first of my two recent hospital stays I focused on my physical health and did not utilize all three components of care. This recent visit I utilized the pastoral, physician and nursing components of care. This threefold approach made all of the difference for me. I was able to sit back and heal physically and receive spiritual renewal. The doctors did a great job and the nurses were fantastic. I can't say enough positive things about the care I received.
I want to give my deepest heartfelt thanks to Dr. Anderson and his colleagues, the superb nursing staff and the spiritual support and direction offered by Chaplain Russ Steele, and pastors Christopherson and Wilms.
Life goes by fast and it is times when we need help from others that we realize just how supportive it is to live in a wonderful caring community, such as Blue Earth. During this time of healing, I have found peace and renewed energy to look for positive ways to reach out to others. It is my hope everyone will know how grateful I am for the wonderful care I received and the importance of our spiritual and physical health as we live our lives.
