Birdhouses are available

March 28, 2012

To the Editor:

The Martin County Conservation Club thanks Five Lakes Centre for the use of its facilities, Martin Soil Conservation District for help with the information program, McDonald's for the beverages, and all the volunteer help for our annual birdhouse seminar on March 24.

This year, more than 100 kids participated in building 90 wren houses and 80 bluebird houses. They take the houses home and install them to help them learn more about nature and increase songbird nesting success.

On Saturday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to noon, we will give away birdhouses at our park on the south end of North Silver Lake.
