To the Editor:
Two political caucuses convened Tuesday evening, Feb, 7, in Fairmont for the Democratic and Republican parties. Not that anybody who depends only on this newspaper for their news would know that, however.
In the Tuesday, Feb. 7, Sentinel, there was a front page, top center box announcing "Area Republicans gather tonight" with the location and time of the meeting. No mention of the Democratic caucus.
In Wednesday's paper, there was a front-page story about the Republican caucus, continued on page 3, along with a picture. Again no mention that a Democratic caucus had also taken place.
For citizens who might have liked to have had the information, the Democratic caucus was held Tuesday night, 7 p.m., in the beautiful Red Rock Center.
Editor's note:?Information about all the caucus times and sites ran in the Saturday, Feb. 4, edition of the Sentinel. Only the Republican caucus held a contested presidential preference poll, which was the basis for the Sentinel's coverage on the night of the caucuses.
