TRUMAN - Names of the three Truman residents involved in a fatal car crash Thursday afternoon have been released by the Minnesota State Patrol.

Virginia L. Murphey, 55, was driving northbound on Highway 15 in Truman when a van driven by Sylvan A. Behrens, 93, collided with the rear driver's side of Murphey's vehicle, sending Murphey's vehicle into a tree on the east side of the road. Behrens' vehicle ran off the road and into a business sign.

Murphey died as a result of her injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the State Patrol.

Behrens and his wife Beatrice, 90, of Truman both suffered non life-threatening injuries and were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System-Fairmont. Both were wearing seat belts.

The State Patrol continues to investigate the crash, which shut down Highway 15 in Truman shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday.
