FAIRMONT - A 15-passenger stretch limousine takes up a lot of space, the length of Vicki LaRow's driveway.
Cruising around town in the white Ford Excursion SUV, with the words "Moonlight Magic Limousine" printed on driver's side door, the vehicle certainly makes an impression.
"Word of mouth is your best advertisement," said LaRow, not that she has had a shortage of business. Already, her schedule is filling up. The month of May is completely booked with weddings.

"I've wanted to do this since I was a little girl," she said, thinking back to her first time being in a limo. "... I can remember the seats, and the lights were twinkling. It was like magic."
"I thought, 'I want to have one of these someday.' Either a corvette or a limo," she added, laughing. "And you can't make money with a corvette."
She chose a good time to get into the business. Hers is one of the few limousines in the area. She acquired it when she bought out the only limo company in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
"That's our first one," she said, but in the future, she sees herself with more limos and maybe even a limo bus.
"You can't go too big too fast," she said. "We're just getting this off the ground."
Before putting her name and logo on the vehicle, the exterior and interior were redone, and a BluRay and flatscreen TV were added.
"We've really worked hard at this," LaRow said.
She is in the process of setting up wine tours and casino runs, besides promoting the limo for special occasions, like weddings, proms, bachelorette parties and sporting events. LaRow also is having fun donating limo rides for charitable causes.
"Just starting out, there's so much that can be done," she said.
The cost to rent the limo varies, depending on hours, mileage and other factors. But once the total is divided among all the passengers, the price is usually affordable for people, LaRow said.
"People can go, take their friends and drink, and not have to worry," she said. "... That means a lot. Leave the driving to us."
And by "us," she isn't literally referring to herself. LaRow leaves the actual driving to the hired professionals.
