TRUMAN - Melanie Nichole Scheibel and Tyler John Bettin of Des Moines, Iowa, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.
Parents of the couple are Douglas and Vickie Scheibel of rural Olivia, and Douglas and Dianne Bettin of rural Truman.
Melanie graduated from Bird Island-Olivia-Lake Lillian District High School in 2002 and Iowa State University. She is a customer service representative at Bank of the West, Clive, Iowa.

A Sept. 11 wedding is planned at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bird Island.
