To the Editor:
The liberals in Washington are out of control and have decided they know what is best for us. They have even gone so far as to hint that we are too stupid to understand what is best for us. This is arrogance run amok.
Allen Quist is the First District candidate for Congress and he understands the problems we face here in southern Minnesota. Allen has a plan to "Restore the American Dream." It begins with lowering taxes and balancing the budget. He is pro-business, pro-life and pro-family. Allen is a constitutionalist and strongly supports limited government. He is a Republican, but does what is right regardless of party politics.
Rep. Tim Walz has voted for every big spending bill to come before him. He voted with Nancy Pelosi for the $787 billion stimulus bill that added $10,000 of new government debt for every family of four in America. Then, along with his liberal buddies, he passed the cap-and-trade bill that, when fully implemented, will cost a family of four $6,800 each year in higher energy and related costs, according to The Heritage Foundation. Rep. Walz has even voted for the rule change to allow the health care bill to pass without taking another vote on it. He is on record for voting for the health care bill that is set to take over one-sixth of our economy. The estimated cost for this proposal is $1 trillion over the next 10 years $13,000 for every family of four in our nation. This will be our cost for our own loss of freedom as well as for a reduction in the quality of our health care.
Allen Quist will be in Fairmont for a fundraiser for his campaign and to explain in detail how, with your help, we can make our nation better. This fundraiser will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the Red Rock Center, 222 E Blue Earth Ave, Fairmont.
Please come out and help us support Allen Quist on the road to "Restore the American Dream."
