FAIRMONT - Services for Edwin H. Schultze, 84, of Fairmont will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wilbert. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Edwin passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 5, 2009, at Fairmont Medical Center. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Edwin Henry Schultze was born on Feb. 27, 1925, in Tenhassen Township, Martin County, the son of Louis Henry and Malinda Anna Lucinda (Thiesse) Schultze. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran School in Wilbert. He was united in marriage to Delores Allison on July 12, 1945, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilbert. They farmed in Tenhassen Township until 1976 and moved into Ceylon in 1977. Edwin also worked in Fairmont at Stokely Van Camp which became United Foods from 1957 until retiring in 1990. Edwin and Delores moved to rural Jackson in 2003 and then entered the Lakeview Methodist Healthcare Center in June of 2009. Edwin was active at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilbert where he held several offices and he enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading.

Those who are left to cherish his memory include, his wife, Delores Schultze of Fairmont; six children, Roger Schultze and his wife, Gail, of Ceylon, Karen Erickson and her husband, Edward, of Walnut Grove, Kevin Schultze and his wife, Kaye, of Ceylon, Terry Schultze and his wife, Myranda, of Hastings, Kris Peterson and her husband, John, of Jackson, Dennis Schultze and his wife, Gayle Angbrandt, of Frankfurt, Germany; seventeen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, Wayne Schultze and his wife, Beverly, of Lakefield; brother-in-law, Delwood Berndt of Breckenridge, Minn.; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Frederick Puestow and Brian Anderson; and two sisters, Lorna Simmering and Vera Berndt.
