Ronald C. Schafer

SHERBURN — A Celebration of Life Services for Ronald C. Schafer, 74, of rural Sherburn, Minn., will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at Sherburn Assembly of God Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, Minn., with Rev. Steven Nordyke officiating. Burial will be in the Sherburn Cemetery in Sherburn, Minn.

Ronald died on Thursday afternoon, May 8, 2008, at Chateau Assisted Living in Rochester, Minn., due to complications from a Traumatic Brain Injury. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn and one hour prior to the funeral services at the church on Monday.

Ronald Chester Schafer was born on June 29, 1933, in Cohasset, Minn., to Chester & Vivian (Carlson) Schafer. He received his education in Sherburn School.

He grew up, lived and worked in the Sherburn area. His passions and hobbies have always been farming.

He married Beverly (Becker) on September 27, 1953, at Sherburn Assembly of God church.

He was a loving husband and father. He especially loved his grandchildren. His faith in God was always foremost in his life and he was very involved as a member of the Assembly of God church.

He will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to his wife, he was survived by his daughters, Jeri (Henry) Stenger of Munich, Germany, Teri (Gary) Lindberg of Portland, Ore., Sara (Craig) Perkins of Austin, Minn., Lisa (Perry) Line of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; five grandsons; and one granddaughter.

Siblings include Joan (Derry) Harris and Jeanette (Bruce) Haugen of Sherburn, Minn., Wendell (Millie) Schafer and Angie (Jerry) Broberg of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mary (Jerry) Gwillan of Sycamore, Ill., as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter.
