WINONA, Minn. (AP) — You might think a Winona eighth-grader's game-winning, full-court shot at a basketball tournament in Wisconsin would be a once-in-a-lifetime sinker.
The tournament game in Holmen, Wis., Sunday was a nail biter. With seconds left on the clock, the Winona Running Rebels team and its opponent were tied. Easton Gamoke (gah-MOH'-kee) heaved the ball down the court and through the net to win the game.
As the 13-year-old was later basking in accolades from his teammates at Winona Middle School and others, and his shot was getting click after click on You Tube, a TV news crew stopped by for an interview. KSMP-TV (http://bit.ly/1hTyqiM ) says Gamoke's head coach, teammate and even the reporter tried to recreate the shot, but weren't even close. Then Gamoke stepped up and defied the odds, making another full-court swish on his first try.
