Saying things are getting better, saying there's a commitment to the community, saying improvements are occurring while services offered are shrinking and will be reduced further in the next 24 months, well, saying something over and over doesn't make it true. Talking points are cheap. Transparency is demonstrated, not discussed. Fairmont is not and will not be the priority to the Health System that it is to the community, and while under the wing of Mayo, will never meet the expectations of Fairmont. It's simply not as important to Dr. Nesse or Dr. Kutcher as it is to the people in the cheap seats, a message very clearly seen with a review of the recent City Council meeting. Cold. Hard. Truth. It starts with a local leadership vacuum, at the medical center as well as the Sentinel, willing to print propaganda and censor community voices as long as the ad dollars keep coming.
