Most people that earn a minimum wage are there for a reason. Personal reasons - Lack of skills / education / ambition / drugs / alcohol / having kids too young / and free government handouts. Don't blame the employer - the responsibility is on the individual.

Yes, good thinking. Let's keep the poor poor. And keep the rich rich. Poverty? What's poverty?

I never said anything about buying elections. Back in the day I worked many jobs that paid the min wage and was lucky to find some that paid above min wage and even had dental and health ins so I know what the min wage workers are dealing with. Another thing I always noticed when I trained in a new employee the new hires that had parents that farmed always worked harder and werent afraid of getting their hands dirty.

If a employer has to pay a livable wage to the employee, the employer could and would expect knowledge and a work ethic. Which would make the store more profitable. And create more jobs.

To SouthernMNFarmer It's easy The Store owner pays for bob's elections, The workers don't. As a consumer I hate going into Wal-Mart and places like that because the employees don't know anything about the products they sell. And it's not all there first day or month there.

Sounds like Bob is all for the owner of the store. But less when it comes to the worker making money for the store owner. Workers are voters also Bob you need them to keep your job.

But darn it Bob! The rich can afford to pay people more. To heck with all the "unintended consequences". Sound familiar? We have to sign the law so we can see what is in it! Who cares if a burger and fries is 10 dollars! Print more money!
