Sorry it should say $22,480 base pay. For that amount you think they could put in some full days. Heck that is like $50 per hour for 9 hours work per week base. Plus fringes. Not bad

Amazing. They set their pay at $18000 for 1 meeting a week or about 3 hours. Then set up a bunch of committees in which they get paid per diem including ones like bureau 14 of the chamber of commerce. Naturally some of these committees are with other county groups because this is a state wide system of abuse. This is practically a full time job, but they all manage to have other full time jobs too. The pay is high because they oversee such a large budget. Yet they come in off the street and know nothing about govt funding, regulations, etc. Are all part time county employees "required" to have their insurance paid? In comparing with school boards and city council wages these wages are truly absurd. $40,000 a year. How do we change this fraud.

"It gets kind of weird, because I've been a commissioner for 22 years," Pierce said. "Elliot (Belgard) and Steve (Flohrs) have been on for a year, yet we all get the same pay."

Translation: I am not being paid enough.

If you think the commissioners are over paid, feel free to run against them and then lower your pay.
