He's asking for "more than $50,000". That's legalese to ensure that it gets into the right court at the first chance, and that what he is able to recover isn't limited by the initial pleading. The actual amount of damages would be established at trial.

How much? How much is the unjust destruction of a man's business and livelihood worth?

$50,000 is cheap. The city ought to just pay and be done w/ it. With lawyers involved the bill will easily go over that amount and the end result will be the same, Five Lakes outta there...

Mayo strikes again. They are not a resource in this situation, they are the problem. The decisions made in Mankato forced him to leave. One more step toward being a band aid station with no specialists. This has significant implications for employees in Fairmont as with another loss of a surgeon, fewer OR employees are needed, fewer lab employees, fewer clinic personnel, etc.
